Message As most of you know, I'm working on my engine rebuild to overcome low compression. I was initially thinking of sending it to a friend in NC but now I think I might be better off getting one from Kyle @ IPP. First off, do you guys recommend a short block or a long block? It seems after I got the machine work done, I might be better off just getting the long block already prepped. This is what I am looking at right about now. I'm sure I'm missing some things. I'm not looking to get all sorts of extra goodies but I am looking for the essentials.

  • IPP long block
  • 300* Rails
  • 615cc NISMO injectors
  • '95 EFI harness
  • '94 CAS
  • SZ SS braided hose for the 300* rail
  • Timing belt
  • RameyZ engine sling
  • OEM oil pump
  • ES steering rack bushings
  • OEM oil filter
  • Motor mounts
  • Complete OEM gasket kit
  • Redline MT-90 gear oil
  • heater hoses (silicone)
  • heater core firewall grommet
  • PCV hoses, 5-pc kit (silicone)
  • Idle/AAC hoses, 4-pc kit (silicone)
  • JWT SP500 turbos

Anything of necessity that I am missing with this? Anything I won't need necessarily if I get the long block? Anything I will need if the short block is the better route? It's amazing how much there is to learn on this subject. Just when you think you can't possibly read any more, you realize you've just skimmed the table of contents so to speak.

Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn!!!

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM
